A little about me
After an accomplished career in data analytics for banks and card payments, I pivoted in to UX arena . The power of data driven decisions is more important than ever; understanding how to implement and design experiences through anticipating the users needs transforms a product from good to great! I am excited to collaborate with companies that want to harness the power of the User Experience!
When I am not working you can find me off screens! Either walking with my two small spaniels, Murphy and Rosie, on the Atlanta Beltline or Chastain Park, exploring new resturants and places, or planning my next needlepoint project (#WIPWednesday) are all ways I get inspired to be the best collaborator and team member.

Project Management
Doing UX/UI design is not only about design. Any UX design project is only as successful as it is well-planned. Although I am not a UX project manager yet, my previous project management experience helped oversee the planning as a whole: from organising workflow to collaborating with team members and documenting reports. So overall, the project management experience trained me to take initiative during work and oversee the project.
Communication
Being a project manager means I need to communicate with every stakeholder. This experience trained my confidence and communication skills. So when it comes to delivering a workshop or meeting with clients, I know how to vary and adapt my approach to getting better or different results.
Collaborative
UX design requires collaborative action, and project management is all about collaborative working. As such, the marriage of both skills allows the effortless implementation of collaboration tools that may be necessary to keep all members on the same page. It also allows for the integration of tools and technologies used by different teams or customers so that everyone can work on the familiar turf.
Guide the Design Process
A project manager is responsible for the planning, procurement, execution, and completion of a project. On the other hand, a UX designer is tasked with curating every user touchpoint to offer more value at every interaction. As such, UX designers are involved in end-to-end product development, especially with respect to design, usability, functionality, and even branding or marketing.
Anticipate Problems
Both UX designers and project managers are expected to be inherent problem solvers. After all, even when teams are as vigilant as possible, issues may crop up regardless. And in such a context, the knowledge of project management can help the teams stay organized as they navigate through design-related problems, flag potential risks, and get rid of the roadblocks in the way. This collective effort will allow the UX design team to play to their strengths and offset the possible risk of eventualities that could translate to “bad news.” This dynamic problem-solving approach can also improve customer satisfaction and earn regular customers in the long run.
Stakeholder Relations
With business processes turning more user-centric, UX designers are pressed to be increasingly customer-facing. At the same time, the role of a project manager is intrinsically that of a people person. As a result, honing this skill can aid UX designers in becoming more capable of dealing with a variety of clients and projects.
The cumulative effect of collaborative design, frictionless communication, and agile development will pave the way for greater customer satisfaction. Further, the better alignment between customer requirements and project deliverables will curb any wastefulness, whether it is of resources, time, or budget. All in all, it is an excellent way to build a symbiotic ecosystem that improves the overall product.
